CCM Tacks AS550 Junior Hockey Skates

The highly anticipated update to the CCM’s Tacks line is finally here. Ideal for the recreational player who wants to step on the ice right on day one, the AS-550 includes an HD microfibre liner, a 3D-injected boot construction, and a 115 stiffness rating.

Skate Fit & Stiffness Profile
The AS-550 skate has a 115 stiffness rating, which is a much more flexible boot compared to higher-end Tacks skates. Flexible boots are best for players who don’t play hockey as often, as well as those who are just learning how to skate and play the game. This skate will be much easier to break in and skate in for developing players. These skates are only available in Regular fit.

Boot Construction
The boot uses a 3D-injected construction, which is an ergonomic boot-shaping system that focuses on improving comfort and durability in the shell. The boot has been textured to further enhance that durability.

Liner & Internal Padding
CCM uses an HD microfibre liner in the AS-550 to keep the skates feeling close while eliminating as much potential discomfort as possible. The microfibre liner helps wick away moisture and odour and is highly resistant to wear and tear.

Tongue
The skate uses a 5mm felt tongue for flexible comfort and coverage.

Insoles
The insole on the AS-550 is CCM’s signature footbed, which is both lightweight and very comfortable.

Steel Runner, Holder & Blade Profile
CCM constructed the AS-550 with their Speedblade holder and stainless steel blade. The holder has been modified to sit more elevated to help enhance stride with a more powerful attack angle. Please note that the steel in this skate is non-replaceable.

Graphics
These skates take a simpler approach compared to the rest of the new Tacks line in terms of graphics. The graphics on the AS-550 consist of the new Tacks and AS-series logos all around, and the skates themselves have a mainly black colouration coupled with yellow accents.
